Pascoal Fortunato de Souza, ROI, RBA (1928-2010) was a painter in oils mainly of figure subjects and portraits, often of children and young women. He was born in the North Goa Indian sub-continent and came to Britain in 1948, studying art at the Sir John Cass and St Martin's School of Art. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in the 1950s, at the Paris Salon, and with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of British Artists, being elected a full member of both these prestigious societies. Pascal de Souza also had a number of one man shows at the Trafford Gallery and the Alwin Gallery, both in London. He lived at Old Isleworth, Middlesex and died in Naples, Italy in December 2010.
