Brian Fielding (1933-1986) was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. He studied at the Sheffield College of Art from 1950-1954, and the Royal College of Art from 1954-1957. Later taught at the Ravensbourne College of Art and Design between 1969-1982. Fielding held a number of solo exhibitions throughout his career including at the Hibbert Gallery, Rowan Gallery and Morley Gallery. In 1986 a retrospective of his work was held in his native Sheffield at the Mappin Art Gallery.
