Anita Ford (1948-2018) was a well-known painter, printmaker and ceramicist. She was born in London and studied sculpture at Loughborough College of Art from 1966-69 where she gained a first class honours degree. In 1970-71 she was awarded an Italian State Scholarship at Academie di Belle Arti, Venice. Subsequently she lectured in screenprinting widely in the UK and overseas and exhibited her work internationally including at the International Biennale of Paper Art in 1986; Osaka Triennial of Print, Japan 1991; Isetan Gallery, Tokyo, Japan 1992; and Dostoyevsky Museum, St Petersburg, Russia 1999. UK exhibitions included Park Gallery, Cheltenham 1987; Prema Arts Centre, Uley, Glos 1993; New Academy Gallery, London W1 2000; and Swindon Arts Centre 2005.
