Description: A framed original drawing in pastel, signed by the artist recto lower right 'J. Bornfriend' and inside it is inscribed by him 'Happy Christmas' and it is then signed 'love Jacob and Pippa' (she was Bornfriend's wife) and at the foot of the card it is inscribed 'London 1963'. This work was one of several greetings cards from the artist and his wife to the Slovakian born architect, Eugene Rosenberg (1907-1990) who fled to the UK from the Nazis in 1939 (we have other cards from the same source). The work is in generally good condition for its age apart from what appears to be some very small spots of discolouration to the paper which seem to have been there for decades. The provenance of this work is the estate of the late Eugene Rosenberg. We have had the work mounted and framed to a good standard including with anti-reflective glazing (ARTGLASS AR 70).
