Donald Wilkinson (born 1937) is a well-known painter and printmaker, especially noted for his landscapes of the Lake District and of Scotland. He was born in Keswick in Cumbria, and studied at Carlisle College of Art 1953-57 and at the Royal College of Art, 1959-62, where he was awarded the Andrew J. Lloyd scholarship for landscape. He worked closely with the artist Winifred Nicholson. Donald Wilkinson has had several one-man shows including at Sheffield University 1964 and Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal 1987. His work is held in a number of collections including the British Council, the Arts Council and Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery. The artist lived near to Carlisle in Cumbria.
