Title: 'Soldiers Sitting by a Stove in Wartime' 1940

Description: An original drawing on paper in graphite and red chalk, taken from one of the artist's early sketchbooks, of British soldiers at rest during the early years of World War II. The location isn't identified but we think it likely to be somewhere in England. The drawing is signed and dated 1940 lower right and it is in good condition for its age, save for a crease to the paper at the upper right corner of the sheet. The work has been mounted and has been framed to a good standard in recent years.

Size: About 6.8 x 8.7 inches (about 17.0 x 22.0 cm) paper size and about 14.7 x 16.2 inches in its mount (about 37.5 x 41 cm)
