Description: This is an etching with aquatint, an un-editioned untitled trial proof, with the artist's name inscribed in pencil to the lower edge of the sheet. We don't know but we imagine that the name was added by the printer and that the date of the work is likely to be the 1980s. The printed image is is good condition with a few minor marks to the margins. The provenance of this work is the estate of the former Morley College (London) tutor and master printmaker, the late Richard Michell, who in latter years had his home and studio in Dorking, Surrey. He worked on the printing of works by a number of artists including David Hockney OM, CH, RA and Michael Sandle RA.
Size: About 6.9 x 4.9 inches plate size and about 12.0 x 9.6 inches sheet size; unframed
