Title: 'Painted Collage with Newsprint'
Description: A framed original painted collage in mixed media, with newsprint, which is signed by the artist 'J.B.' recto. This work was one of several greetings cards from the artist and his wife to the Slovakian born architect, Eugene Rosenberg (1907-1990) who fled to the UK from the Nazis in 1939 (we have other cards from the same source) and the provenance is his estate. Inside it is inscribed in ink by the artist 'Happy Xmas, all the best for 1967, with love, Pippa and Jacob'. Judging by this inscription the work will date to 1966. It is in good condition for its age. We have had the work mounted and framed to a good standard including with anti-reflective glazing (ARTGLASS AR 70).
